Why You Should Create a Website for your Side Hustle

Whether it’s photography or tutoring, a side hustle is a great way to indulge a creative hobby and make a little extra cash. Even if your side venture only takes up a couple of hours per week, it’s still worth building an online presence for the business. Here’s why:

Establish credibility

Before opting to work with you, potential customers are going to head to Google to find out more about you. If you don’t have a website, opting only for a Facebook page, people may question the legitimacy of your business. This can negatively impact the likelihood that they’ll move forward and decide to work with you. A website, even a simple one, shows that you’re a real business worth investigating further.

It’s an easy way to build your business

Your time is limited as is. If you’re spending most of the hours that are dedicated to your side business just trying to find new customers, your efforts won’t be very fruitful. Instead, shift your focus so that you’re using your spare time only on money-making activities, not marketing.

Build up your customer base beyond just word of mouth

Word of mouth is great as you’re getting started, but to take your business to the next level you’ll need a website. This allows people beyond your network of friends or family to find out about your offerings. If they’re interested, they can easily contact you for more information, or opt to make a purchase.

Develop an email list

Without a website, you have to hope that customers continue to check back to see about new products or services you’re offering. When you establish a website, you’re able to develop an email list. When you debut new products or services, you can tell your customers about them right away.
